Read MoreEyeglasses with alloy browlines paired with beta titanium (β-Ti) temples are an advanced model achieved through "functional zoning design" – using alloy browlines to shape retro aesthetics and structural stability, while upgrading wearing comfort and durability with beta titanium temples. This perfectly balances style expression, practical performance, and cost control, making it a popular choice that combines aesthetics and user experience.
Beta titanium, a special titanium alloy containing over 75% titanium (with added rare metals such as vanadium and molybdenum), is the "performance pinnacle" for temple materials. Its advantages precisely compensate for the shortcomings of ordinary alloy temples:
Lightweight & Pressure-Free, Perfect Fit:
Beta titanium has a density of only about 4.5 g/cm³, which is 40% lighter than ordinary alloys. The weight of a single temple is almost negligible, and the entire frame can weigh between 12–18 grams. Long-term wear does not cause pressure on the ears or nose bridge, and it can even reduce the issue of "eyeglass indentations." More importantly, its exceptional malleability allows the temples to be finely adjusted to fit the contour of the face, ensuring a snug fit without pinching or slipping. They remain stable even during sports or sudden head movements.
Super Tough & Resilient, Memory & Springback:
Beta titanium has an elastic modulus of 110 GPa, allowing the temples to be bent up to 180° or even slightly twisted, yet they instantly spring back to their original shape once the force is released, with no risk of permanent deformation. After daily squeezing, dropping, or sitting on them, a simple adjustment is all that’s needed to restore their form. Their durability far exceeds that of ordinary alloy temples (capable of withstanding over 20,000 bend tests).
Hypoallergenic & Corrosion-Resistant:
Beta titanium passes biocompatibility tests and contains no nickel or other allergy-triggering metals, making it suitable for long-term wear even for those with sensitive skin, without causing redness, swelling, or itching behind the ears. A natural oxide layer forms on its surface, providing resistance to sweat, cosmetics, and other corrosive elements, avoiding the issue of "rusting and blackening" common with ordinary alloy temples. Its service life can reach 8–10 years.
Exquisite Craftsmanship, Premium Feel:
Beta titanium can be crafted into slim, elegant temples, complemented by techniques such as brushing or sandblasting, presenting a subtle and refined metallic luster that echoes the texture of the alloy browline, enhancing the overall premium feel of the product. Some brands also use anodizing technology to give the temples iridescent patterns, adding more design detail.
