A laboratory has recently developed a novel bio-based material that, owing to its lightweight and eco-friendly properties, holds promise for widespread application in eyewear manufacturing. Derived from renewable resources, this material not only reduces reliance on petroleum-based plastics but also lowers carbon emissions during production. Research indicates that compared to conventional plastics, this bio-based material achieves approximately 30% weight reduction while maintaining equivalent strength. Furthermore, it is fully biodegradable, resulting in a significantly reduced environmental footprint.
